1895. Members of the East Coast elite have died under mysterious circumstances. To investigate this delicate problem, Richard Clayton—against the wishes of the President—calls upon a man named Morton Chapel for his unorthodox methods and peculiar associates. As they begin to uncover strange, vanishing marks on people’s bodies, unexplained changes in behaviour and hints of widespread corruption, the team reforms around the name Ulysses S. Grant himself gave it years earlier: his SPecialists in the Odd and the OCcult—his SPOOKS.

I had heard about this one and even seen the odd panel of art but I thought “No. Cinebook is publishing this –wait til you can read it in English!”  And, I actually listened to myself.  Very nice cover. But nothing to make you scream “Oh wow!” So I opened up the book….

At a time when Hollywood is desperate for new ideas they should be looking here. A train journey…maybe a fist-fight on top the carriages? No.  A gun fight in the carriages? No. I could tell you but that would spoil it. High octane beginning –yes! If you are a horror buff like me then you’ll love this.  It’s Hammer Horror meets Warren and Charlton Horror comics.

I’ve a feeling that this could be one of Cinebook’s new big sellers.  If that is the case then make sure you visit them at this coming weekends Bristol Expo because their books sell fast!

A great read.
